We can be instructed solely as Advocates in any family case involving children disputes and in all civil courts including Appeals.

Mediation Service

Facilitating settlements to civil and commercial disputes and representation at mediations.

Boyd will also be happy to be appointed as a private independent mediator to try to facilitate a settlement in Children Act disputes between parents themselves, with other family members and, in accordance with the Public Law Outline, by local authorities prior to Care Proceedings being commenced.

Independent Employment Appeals

Boyd can act as the independent appeals officer for you in any internal appeal made by your employees from any employment decision that your firm or company has made, for example, in grievance procedures, misconduct warnings or dismissals or redundancies. The process we will use will ultimately either confirm your original decision or uphold the appeal and will be the final step in your internal employment procedure.

Having an independent appeals process can be of considerable benefit to you as it ensures the integrity of your employment procedures which in turn can help keep staff morale at its highest in difficult times. In addition, in the event that you have inadvertantly made an error in reaching your initial decision, the process we use can assist in curing those defects which might otherwise result in your employer taking you to an Employment Tribunal resulting in unrecoverable legal costs, inconvenience, bad publicity and the risk of having to pay substantial sums in compensation.
